This is the kind of salad that brings its own punch line and still empties first. Sugar n’ Spice Gals’ five-ingredient bowl begins with vanilla yogurt and dry pudding mix, turns airy with whipped topping, and lands on the buffet with tart raspberries and miniature marshmallows suspended in every scoop.

The 2018 formula needs no embellishment. Its one quiet piece of technique is also its identity: the raspberries enter frozen, soften during a covered 30-minute chill, then streak the cream when the bowl is folded again. Preserve that pause and the dessert keeps both its loft and its bright, irregular ribbons.

“This raspberry marshmallow fluff salad takes less than 5 minutes to make and is absolutely delicious!”

Powder into yogurt

Instant pudding goes straight into the full tub of vanilla yogurt; no box-directed milk is added.

Berries stay frozen

They soften during the covered rest, keeping the first fold thick and painting it pink later.

Fold after chilling

A final few turns distribute the raspberry juice without turning every berry into purée.

Bowl anatomyBody air tartness soft bite

Five packages, one pink cloud

Each packaged ingredient does one structural job, and none needs a substitute to make the source formula work.

01

Vanilla yogurt + pudding mix

Thirty-two ounces of yogurt become the creamy base while one 3.4-ounce packet gives it enough body to hold the fruit and candy-soft pieces.

Stir these two completely smooth before anything aerated enters the bowl.
02

Whipped topping

One thawed eight-ounce tub lightens the dense yogurt base and supplies the recipe’s cloud-soft volume.

Keep it cold and fold with broad turns; beating trades loft for a flat, loose texture.
03

Frozen raspberries

A 12-ounce package brings tart fruit and the streaks that move the salad from vanilla white to raspberry pink.

Add the berries frozen, as the source directs, and let the refrigerator do the thawing.
04

Mini marshmallows

Two cups add a soft, springy bite that makes this a dessert salad rather than a plain berry-yogurt bowl.

Fold only until evenly scattered so they remain distinct after chilling.

Do not thaw first

The frozen fruit keeps the first fold thick; the refrigerator turns it juicy on the recipe’s own schedule.

Five minutes at the bowl, thirty in the cold

The active work is genuinely brief. The half-hour rest is what hydrates, softens, colors, and settles the salad.

  1. 0:00

    Smooth the vanilla base

Stir the dry instant pudding into the yogurt until no powder hides at the bottom.

  2. 0:02

    Fold in the cloud

Add the cold thawed topping and lift the mixture over itself until white streaks nearly disappear.

  3. 0:03

    Scatter frozen berries

Fold the raspberries through without crushing them into a uniform purée.

  4. 0:04

    Add the soft bite

Turn in two cups of mini marshmallows just until the distribution looks even.

  5. 0:05

    Cover and chill

Refrigerate the bowl for the full 30 minutes named by the primary method.

  6. 0:35

    Ripple and serve

Fold several times to carry the released raspberry juice through the cream, then spoon it cold.

Texture cuesSmooth airy distinct marbled

Stop while the mixture still has shape

A good bowl is cohesive but not homogeneous: whole berries, pink trails, and miniature marshmallows should remain easy to see.

01

Base free of dry pockets

Before the topping goes in, the yogurt should look smooth rather than speckled with pale pudding powder.

02

White streaks just gone

Stop folding the whipped topping once the color is even; more movement only presses out air.

03

Berries still recognizable

Some fruit will break naturally, but whole and partial raspberries should remain visible after mixing.

04

Pink ribbons after the rest

The final fold should draw berry-colored trails through the bowl rather than make it one flat shade.

Potluck planCover chill serve return

Make it early, keep it cold

The recipe is designed to wait in the refrigerator, not on a warm buffet table.

30 minutes ahead

This is the source method’s minimum: cover, chill, then fold the berry juice through before serving.

Several hours ahead

Keep the bowl covered and cold; wait until near serving for the final fold so the pink marbling stays visible.

Two-hour buffet limit

Return the perishable dairy-based salad to the refrigerator within two hours, or one hour above 90°F.

Use within 3 days

Store airtight at 40°F or below. The fruit and marshmallows are best before the general four-day leftover ceiling.

Ingredients

Fluff salad

  • 1 (32-ounce) tub vanilla yogurt
  • 1 (3.4-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 (8-ounce) tub frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 (12-ounce) package frozen raspberries, kept frozen
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, stir the vanilla yogurt and dry instant vanilla pudding mix together until the powder is fully moistened and the base is smooth, with no pale pockets at the bottom of the bowl.
  2. Add the thawed whipped topping. Fold gently with a flexible spatula, turning the mixture from the bottom over the top, until the white streaks are nearly gone.
  3. Add the frozen raspberries and fold just until they are distributed. Do not mash them smooth; the source relies on the berries softening and releasing pink juice while the salad rests.
  4. Add the mini marshmallows and fold until they are evenly scattered through the bowl.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Fold the salad several times after chilling so the raspberry juices ripple through the creamy base, then serve cold.
